Our innovative cloud-based IT analytics client needs a contract Technical Writer to test and augment their current installation and configuration instructions, which involves working hands-on with CLI and web interfaces.

This is mostly software documentation, although a small hardware section might be involved. You?ll author in FrameMaker and help implement style guidelines for documents, edit existing content, test and correct installation and configuration procedures (updating documentation as needed), and fix doc bugs using Bugzilla.

The ideal candidate has worked hands-on with enterprise networking technology, has written CLI reference documentation, and is proficient with FrameMaker.

This will be part-time (10-15 hours/week), mostly onsite work in Sunnyvale. It?s an open-ended contract that might expand (to more than just 15 hours/week). You?d be paid on a 1099 basis, unless you prefer W2.

Required:

• Experience documenting enterprise software installation and configuration procedures
• Strong CLI documentation experience
• Proficiency with FrameMaker
• Sharable, relevant writing samples and reachable references
• Part-time (flexible) availability
• Ability to work onsite in Sunnyvale, CA (traveling at your own expense)

Desired:

• Recent experience working hands-on with enterprise networking software
• Working knowledge of Bugzilla or similar defect-tracking software
