Laptop Superhero

If you ever happen to forget your laptop in a public place, you can only hope that a nice person finds it and arranges to return it, or that a masked and caped protector of justice simply flies it back to you directly. Laptop Superhero ($29.99/year, direct) can't leap tall buildings at a single bound, but it will help recover a lost or stolen laptop. In testing, though, not all security features worked perfectly, and I had no trouble disabling it the way a wily thief might.

Protection begins with registration at www.YouGetItBack.com. A 7-day free trial is available. Once you've registered, you download and install the local software on your laptop.

You can keep track of one or more protected laptops by logging in to a Web page called "My Vault." From this same page you can also track Android, BlackBerry, Symbian, or Windows Mobile devices protected by the company's Mobile Superhero app.

Location Tracking
Like most laptop antitheft products, Laptop Superhero determines the geographic location of the device by analyzing nearby WiFi hotspots. In testing, I found it took quite a long time to initially locate the laptop in my home office, even though I clicked a button to re-send the find command.

It displayed the laptop's location on a Google satellite view, with a shaded area representing the estimated accuracy. It even added a Google street view image of the house (yes, it got the right house).

I tried logging in from a nearby public library, to get a different location, but ran into trouble. Although I stayed there for 45 minutes, working on articles and repeatedly re-sending the find command, it never did manage to determine the laptop's location.

Tech support at YouGetItBack said this means that their WiFi location providers simply didn't find the second location in their databases. However, Laptop Cop ($65 direct, 4 stars) and GadgetTrak Laptop Security ($34.95/year direct, 3 stars) managed to place the laptop at this location?and quickly, too.

Lost and Found
Laptop Cop and LoJack for Laptops by Absolute Software ($39.99/year direct, 4.5 stars) install in stealth mode, with the aim of gathering information about a thief secretly. Laptop Superhero focuses more on working with a helpful stranger who may find the laptop and want to return it. It adds an "If Found Click Here" button to the Welcome screen, so anyone who turns on the laptop will see it.

Clicking the button brings up a dialog box for the finder to enter contact information along with details about where the laptop was found. The finder can choose not to share those details directly with the owner, in which case YouGetItBack acts as intermediary. They can even arrange to ship the laptop back, if necessary, at no charge.

Here's a nice touch. A finder who supplies an email address gets a reward consisting of a year's subscription to Laptop Superhero.

Hidden card charges to be banned

AircraftThe OFT has warned it will take action if companies do not comply

Travel companies have been ordered to end the use of hidden surcharges for passengers paying by card.

Airline, ferry and rail passengers typically have to click through four to six pages of an online booking before the charge is added to the price.

Now the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has ordered them to make charges for using a credit card clear immediately.

It also wants the law changed to abolish altogether charges for using debit cards.

The OFT said travellers spent £300m on card surcharges in the airline industry alone.

What is a super-complaint?

A designated consumer group can make a super-complaint to the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) if an issue is "significantly harming the interests of consumers".

The OFT has 90 days to respond by stating what action, if any, it plans to take on the issue and the reasons behind its decision.

It warned that if travel firms did not comply, it would take action against them, using the consumer protection laws.

"You can't buy online with cash and people are frustrated about being asked to pay for paying," said Cavendish Elithorn of the OFT.

"We will take enforcement action against any businesses that do not respond to today's announcement and instead continue to use misleading surcharging practices."

The OFT's announcement comes in response to a super-complaint by the consumers' association Which?.

Earlier this year it had called for customers to be told upfront about charges.

It had also argued that charges to customers should be the same as the cost to retailers, and that retailers should absorb the cost of debit card payments.

Which? had pinpointed low-cost airlines as the worst offenders, with cinemas, hotels and even some local authorities starting to copy them.

A family of four booking a return flight with one budget airline would be charged £40 to pay by card - much higher than the cost of processing the payment, it said.

In December, the OFT warned retailers about tricking customers with misleading price offers, including "drip pricing" which involves adding compulsory delivery costs.

Businesses must include any compulsory extras in their headline price on their website.

For example, if an airline charges customers a fuel duty surcharge, this must be included in the advertised price of the flight.

Super-complaints have been in the armoury of consumer groups since 2002.

Examples so far have included complaints about bank charges, payment protection insurance, prison call costs and doorstep lending.

BET Awards gets ratings boost amid on-stage snafu (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) ? The BET Awards drew 7.7 million viewers on Sunday night, up from 7.4 million last year, as Chris Brown took the most honors and the wrong name was announced for the viewers' choice prize.

The ceremony -- which aired live from Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium -- is traditionally one of cable channel BET's most-watched events. The 2009 awards, which occurred soon after the death of Michael Jackson, is still the record-holder at 10.7 million viewers.

Brown won four prizes including the viewers' choice prize, but the announcement was mired in a teleprompter snafu. A lucky fan chosen to reveal the winner read out Brown's name, then apologized and said Rihanna had won. Host Kevin Hart clarified a little later that Brown was in fact the rightful winner.

The fan, Tiffany Greene, became an instant Twitter celebrity, initially excoriated by the masses for her alleged error and then deluged with sympathy after it emerged that BET had blundered.

Some youngsters are not gifted to be good in math. This can be why it is important to rent a math tutor that will assist the kid in understanding this important subject. If your child is struggling in math, you would be able to find a heap of private tutors that are giving affordable services. These instructors will help your child to achieve their best in their studies.

It is unquestionable that the advent of the internet has brought added interactivity in learning and education for pupils and individuals of all ages and abilities.
The internet also has a comprehensive knowledge base that might rival many public libraries, although the authority of some if not most of these educational and knowledge based resources can be questionable. For instance, Wikipedia a number of years ago did not have the proper and right levels of management and security over its editors and contributors and thus the knowledge it published.

Now of course it is a completely different story and is probably the pinnacle reference point for all knowledge.

I was required to take several upper level calculus classes. So I did what most people would do-I first took the introduction to calculus class. I did pass the class however simply barely singapore math tuition. This was only a problem once I moved onto the upper level classes and had no clue what I was doing. You?ll see why getting a math tutor sooner than later is thus important tuition agencies. If you wait too long there is too much catching up to do and one can feel completely lost.

Parents only want what?s best for their children, which is why they are hiring personal tutor to teach their youngsters, especially in subjects like math singapore home tutor. Apparently, many children notice it difficult to deal with math.

This particular subject needs application of knowledge and if your kid is not able to do that, then he won?t score anything in exercises and examinations. Actually, mathematics may be a foundation subject in most of the career oriented courses that we have. If your child will be able to pull this off, then you?re helping your kid to realize self-confidence and be in a position to succeed in the future.

Patience is that the foremost quality to appear into a math tutor. Tutor should be willing to assume it?s his own child and him being the math tutor, what treatment would he then impart.
There are a lot of cases wherein tutor do not open heartedly embrace different students as their own youngsters and give them preferred and additional in depth tutoring as compared to others. A tutor without open and smart heart would not be a very sensible teacher. So before you make a final call ensure the maths tutor is qualified, has sensible rapport with kids, is equally sensitive to each and each student and creates the method of learning math a whole lot of fun.

Keypoint?s Business Telephone System Offers a Refreshing model ...

Keypoint?s Business Telephone System Offers a Refreshing model

Keypoint Communications

(PRWeb UK) July 2, 2010

Keypoint stirred up the business comms market a few months back with their revolutionary new honest cheap business phone calls tariff. The tariff offered customers stupendous ?savings? on their business calls ? savings in inverted commas, in that all it really did was remove all the skulduggery that had previously been the norm in business phone contracts. Traditionally, companies like BT were used to fleecing business customers six ways from Sunday, by forcing them into long term contracts they didn?t really want; charging them for calls they never made (with minimum call lengths charged sometimes at almost 800 times the length of an actual call); and levying installation fees. Keypoint, having decided that robbing your own customer base probably wasn?t the best way to run a business in a recession, developed an alternative plan to deliver real, cheap business phone calls ? and the response was staggering. Customers defected from BT and co in flocks, understandably attracted by the idea that they could only pay for the phone calls they were making, wouldn?t have to pay connection fees and could step out of their contract whenever they wanted.

Thing is, it?s not just a cheap business calls price tariff that Keypoint offers. Keypoint?s whole business is in corporate comms, which means they also design, install and maintain any and every kind of business telephone system. And that?s another area where the industry old boys have been happily taking huge chunks of their customer?s hard earned cash without any real justification. As with their punishing call tariffs, the communications old guard usually stick important bits of a telephone system (like call forwarding and caller ID) into an unwieldy and expensive package with a load of junk no-one is ever going to use. The customer who wants a telephone systems that offers caller ID, of call forwarding, is obliged to buy everything else in the package too.

Well, no more. Keypoint?s transparent telephone system installations sell businesses the items they want, individually. If a company wants caller ID in its telephone system, it pays for that and nothing else. Call forwarding? Same. And so on. Whatever a business needs, Keypoint installs. The rest, as they say, is silence.

Now. In a post-recessionary financial landscape, one would think that transparent pricing (i.e., saving customers as much money as possible) would be second nature. Apparently, in the communications world, that?s only true if your name is Keypoint. Genuinely cheap business phone calls; an easy and effective telephone system, with caller ID and call forwarding only included if they are actually required. Everyone else is still stuck in the Dark Ages. Keypoint, taking their own cue from their hugely successful innovations of the past 12 months, continue to bring a fresh brand of honesty to the business communications market place.

Keypoint Communications, and its child company Cheap Business Calls, supply itemised phone billing and priced-per-item phone systems to UK business.

William Dietrich: Put the Story in History

People learn through stories. Jesus told parables. Abraham Lincoln charmed his way with humorous tales. Ronald Reagan enthralled audiences with anecdotes he kept on 3-by-5 cards.

Too many history textbook writers don't understand this, and the result is abysmal historical memory by many Americans. Most historians can't write, and so too many Americans "don't know much about history."

One way to get them hooked is historical fiction, which emphasizes the "story" in history.

The subject popped into the news recently with Sarah Palin's rambling mangling of the story of Paul Revere, a level of ignorance which has to be seen (YouTube) to be believed.

It was followed a few days later by the 2010 National Assessment of Educational Progress, which showed only half of American students are "proficient" in history and only 2 percent of high school seniors understood the significance of Brown v. Board of Education, the 1954 Supreme Court decision striking down segregated schools.

This is not a new lament. Historians have been bemoaning Americans' lack of memory since the early 20th century, with survey after survey showing students and adults retain little historical literacy.

As a historical novelist, I study history for a living. Motto: I read boring books so you don't have to, and glean the good stuff for historical thrillers.

From Blood of the Reich a reader could learn about pre-War Nazi SS exploration of Tibet, the cost of a 1938 plane ride across the Pacific, or a capsule summary of particle physics -- but all that amid a yarn of shootouts, escapes, and rescues. From Napoleon's Pyramids and The Rosetta Key, I explore the early perils of Western intervention in the Middle East, but only through the misadventures of an American rascal. From The Dakota Cipher and The Barbary Pirates, I key off more somber books about the heroic French voyageur fur trade, and an ingenious submarine invented by Robert Fulton a century ahead of its time.

So here's an idea: why not use more historical fiction to hook kids on history? Make our astonishing past a life habit, not a skills exam forgotten hours after it's taken.

Historical fiction worked for me. I loved reading history while growing up but despised history textbooks; even as a teen I knew tedious writing when I saw it. I suffered through history class and then went home to read popular history and historical novels for fun.

While I did score 15 out of 15 on a history quiz of questions given to high school seniors posted on the NPR site, like most adults I've forgotten more about the Missouri Compromise or Vasco de Gama than I remember.

What I do remember are stories.

Sarah Palin might benefit from the children's Revolutionary War novel Johnny Tremain. I remember the tale of Squanto helping Pilgrims from a juvenile novel read in grade school. I got the Indian side of the Little Big Horn way back in 1958 from Disney's movie and novel Tonka, a decade ahead of its time in attitudes toward Custer's Last Stand. I use Benjamin Franklin in my own novels, but first got hooked on him from Ben and Me, a novel about his (yes, fictional) mouse Amos.

At a higher reading level, perhaps The Red Badge of Courage or Gone With The Wind could get students interested in the Civil War as a lead-in to what all the shooting and shouting was about. The Great Gatsby on the Roaring Twenties. The Grapes of Wrath on the Depression. The comic novels The Mouse That Roared, Slaughterhouse Five, and Catch 22 on the lunacy of modern conflict. The Man Who Would Be King or The Sand Pebbles on colonial imperialism. The Help or Beloved on race relations.

Websites like librarybooklists.org have far more complete juvenile literature suggestions that teachers could draw from.

History textbooks are carefully calibrated to offend as few school boards as possible, but the result is that they lack what historical fiction frequently has: attitude. My hero Ethan Gage views great events with a skeptic's eye. Fiction personalizes history and injects humor, tragedy, romance, and peril: exactly the kind of thing to get teens interested in something beyond comic book superheroes. Our ancestors were not just inspiring but flawed, and more interesting because of it.

Shakespeare knew this too, and mined history relentlessly.

Yes, we learn history to take lessons and avoid mistakes. But we also learn to be inspired and appalled by all that humans are capable of. The laws and treaties so prized by textbook authors are the dry embalming of passion and courage, ambition and desire, fear and prejudice. Why do schoolbooks leave all the fun stuff out? History is whip and disease, immigrant journey and slum survival, scurvy and silly fashion. It is march, riot, strike, festival, and ball.

It's about a comfortable Boston silversmith risking his life to warn about a clever British night march to seize colonial arms and stop a revolt in its tracks.

Yes, Paul Revere. Hell of a story.

Hard cash Consumers Have Personal Pickings on Affected Condos

We all know the financial state is in the aquarium. The housing business is struggling with nothing you?ve seen prior witnessed drops. The anguish seriously isn?t distributed consistently during the entire countries real estate markets. Some cities with an increase of subprime lending products have got even more of successful in prices than your some cities. This real estate crisis has introduced a lot of opportunities for buyers who never thought they will afford to private your home.

An advanced income purchaser, which means you can buy your home or house with no acquiring for any home finance loan there are numerous particular scenarios that ONLY online personal loan can benefit from and obtain a larger discounted over a purchaser who requires a home finance loan. Well then, i?ll clarify in detail how to obtain one of these condominiums both for an investment decision or your own private specific home.

Lots of house houses have been made in past times six season real estate rate of growth. Many of these condominiums have been acquired by buyers, typically before building was concluded. An important variety of these buyers have been acquiring these condominiums with both 100% capital, which means no down payment, or we were looking at using the choice Provide home finance loan which have recently reset to zero to a lot higher interest levels. Many of these condominiums available in past times six a long time at the moment are worthy of a lot less than exactly what the primary owners given, from time to time just as much as 50% fewer.

Because you can be familiar with on the news, these buyers are walking away off their condominiums and definitely back in the lending company. At these times the lending company ends up having the condo. There is a vital interval involving the time a holder/buyers makes a decision to give up the condo preventing making payment on the Get a Personal Loan Along with the HOA expenses. Several months overlook together with the HOA not acquiring this owners monthly HOA transaction. In many these more recent house houses, a number of buyers quit spending their HOA expenses. After some time, these non-repayments have came a total large part of HOA delinquencies that loan companies won?t personal loan around the building. The highest fall behind pace that a lot of loan companies will permit is 15%, as soon as the delinquency rate is over that no person can have a home finance loan using a house from the building.

This generates an excellent chance the income purchaser as you have little levels of competition using their company potential buyers. Due to the fact few potential buyers can purchase from the building price ranges lower even more, increasing the chance the income purchaser. An advanced income purchaser check with your Broker to pay attention to house houses inbuilt modern times that had an increased number of buyers as primary potential buyers. These may have the top prices for all those income potential buyers that could essentially in close proximity an arrangement from the building.

A further component that might increase your odds of not fighting versus potential buyers receiving a home finance loan is when your building boasts a small manager occupancy proportion. Most financial institutions don?t loan on building with a lot less than 50% manager occupancy. If plenty of devices from the building continue to be had by buyers this may be trying to keep potential buyers aside as a result of capital troubles.

Current house income potential buyers have unparalleled opportunities now already in the market place. These opportunities will likely not previous too long, when financial institutions foreclose on pet owners/buyers the lending company accounts for making payment on the HOA and they commonly pay out it. So potential buyers thinking about in condominiums get moving for one in the lifetime opportunities that solve these questions . benefit from.

China: Military action won't solve Libyan crisis (AP)

LONDON ? Military action alone won't resolve the Libyan crisis, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said Monday in a warning to nations conducting the NATO-led air campaign in Libya.

Following talks in London with British Prime Minister David Cameron, the Chinese leader said his nation backed attempts to reach a political solution over Western calls for Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi to step down after 42 years in power.

"Foreign troops may be able to win war in a place, but they can hardly win peace. Hard lessons have been learned from what has happened in the Middle East and Afghanistan," Wen told reporters at a news conference with Cameron.

He said China still supported the U.N. Security Council resolution that authorized air strikes against Libya to protect civilians, but insisted the nations involved must comply with the strict terms.

Russia has accused Britain, France and other NATO participants of going beyond the scope of the resolution.

"We hope that the issue of Libya will be resolved through political, peaceful means, to reduce the humanitarian harm and in particular the harm of innocent civilians," Wen said.

He said China has had recent contacts with both Gadhafi's regime and the main opposition leadership based in eastern Libya.

Wen, who was wrapping up a three-day visit to Britain, took a swipe at "finger-pointing" Western critics who insist the U.K. and other nations should not pursue increased trade with China until the Asian powerhouse improves its human rights record.

Cameron said he had raised the issue during talks and that no topic had been off limits. "There is no trade-off in our relationship. It is not about either discussing trade or human rights," he said.

In its latest annual report on global human rights, Britain expressed concern over the plight of Nobel Peace Prize recipient Liu Xiaobo and the detention and prosecution of other political activists.

"On human rights, China and the U.K. should respect each other, respect the facts, treat each other as equals, engage in more cooperation than finger-pointing and resolve our differences through dialogue," Wen said.

"China is not only pursuing economic development but also political structural reform and improvement in democracy and the rule of law," he said.

In an afternoon speech to Britain's Royal Society, a scientific academy, Wen said he recognized the need for an academic environment "which encourages innovation, criticism and risk-taking."

"Tomorrow's China will be a country that fully achieves democracy, the rule of law, fairness and justice," Wen said, promising the nation would create the "conditions for people to oversee and criticize the government."

Britain and China sealed trade deals worth 1.4 billion pounds ($2.3 billion) during the talks between senior ministers. China also offered to send two panda bears to Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland.

The two nations are aiming to quickly increase the value of their trade, and discussed opportunities for British companies in rapidly expanding regional cities outside Beijing.

However, Cameron and Wen acknowledged that Germany is currently a larger trading partner with China. German Chancellor Angela Merkel was hosting a formal dinner for Wen in Berlin on Monday evening.

"I see no danger in China, but an enormous opportunity," German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle said on ZDF television. "We have to tend our old partnership, we must deepen our friendships, but we must at the same time also find new partnerships."

Like Cameron, Westerwelle said China's new partners could woo new trade while also delivering a tough message on human rights.

"German business opportunities and values-led foreign policy that pays attention to compliance with human rights are not contradictions ? they belong together," Westerwelle said.

"If you approach things, let's say, in a face-saving way, with sensible handling, you can address everything ? even the most difficult questions," he added.

The use of the web by Arab democracy movements could lead to some states cracking down harder on internet freedoms, Google's chairman says.

Speaking at a conference in Ireland, Eric Schmidt said some governments wanted to regulate the internet the way they regulated television.

He also said he feared his colleagues faced a mounting risk of occasional arrest and torture in such countries.

The internet was widely used during the so-called Arab Spring.

Protesters used social networking sites to organise rallies and communicate with those outside their own country, such as foreign media, amid tight restrictions on state media.

Mr Schmidt said he believed the "problem" of governments trying to limit internet usage was going to "get worse".

“In most of these countries, television is highly regulated because the leaders, partial dictators, half dictators or whatever you want to call them understand the power of television”

Eric Schmidt Executive Chairman, Google

"The reason is that as the technology becomes more pervasive and as the citizenry becomes completely wired and the content gets localised to the language of the country, it becomes an issue like television."

"If you look at television in most of these countries, television is highly regulated because the leaders, partial dictators, half dictators or whatever you want to call them understand the power of television imagery to keep their citizenry in some bucket," he added.

Google has regularly clashed with China over attempts to limit public access to its internet services.

Mr Schmidt also said he was concerned about the danger faced by employees of the company in parts of the world that deemed material found on its search engine illegal.

He said he would not directly name the countries because of the sensitivity of the situation.

During the uprising in Egypt, Google executive Wael Ghonim was detained by Egyptian authorities after taking part in the protests that led to the ousting of President Hosni Mubarak.

Mr Ghonim had been involved in founding an anti-torture Facebook page that helped inspire demonstrations.

Syrian tanks, troops occupy village on Turkish border | Morocco ...

Syrian tanks

June 25, 2011 (AFP)

Syrian tanks on Saturday rolled into a village on the border with Turkey, where workers are scrambling to erect a huge tent city anticipating a new exodus of refugees from the crackdown.

?The army backed by tanks and troop carriers entered Al-Najia as part of its deployment in the province of Idlib,? the head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Rami Abdel Rahman, told AFP in Nicosia.

Al-Najia is on the road linking the northwestern city of Latakia to Jisr al-Shughhur ? home to 50,000 people, most of whom fled after the army seized the town on June 12, with many crossing into Turkey.

The latest operation came just days after the army moved into Khirbet al-Joz, another village near the border, and amid EU condemnation of Syria?s resort to ?shocking violence? against peaceful dissent.

On Friday, the state-run SANA news agency reported that the army had ?completed? its deployment in and around Jisr al-Shughur and quoted a military official as urging villagers who had fled their homes to return.

The authorities blame ?terrorist armed groups? for the unrest that has gripped Syria since pro-democracy protests broke out in mid-March, and say the military deployments are aimed at rooting them out.

The army?s sweep through protest centres in the northwest has sent nearly 12,000 Syrians fleeing to safety in neighbouring Turkey, which is scrambling to accommodate the refugees on its Hatay border province with Syria.

More than 200 tents have already been erected in the camp while another 1,000 are due to be ready in a week in the village of Apaydin with a capacity for up to 15,000 people, village headman Omer Cagatay said.

Syria?s Red Crescent chief, Abdurrahman Attar, said on Saturday that the refugees would not face retribution or interrogation if they returned home, Turkey?s Anatolia news agency reported.

?We, as the Red Crescent, guarantee that the Syrian government will not call (the refugees) to account and under no circumstances will security forces take decisions about them,? Attar was quoted as saying.

President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday ordered a general amnesty in a bid to quell rising unrest, a day after offering a ?national dialogue.?

But tens of thousands of people calling for the regime?s ouster protested on Friday in response to a call by the Facebook group Syrian Revolution 2011 ? the driving force behind three months of anti-regime demonstrations.

Security forces opened fire and rained tear gas on the protesters, killing 18 people and wounding scores more, activists told AFP.

Five people died in the Damascus neighbourhood of Barzeh, six in the town of Kiswah south of the capital, and seven in and around the central city of Homs, they said.

Abdul Karim Rihawi of the Syrian League for Human Rights said funerals were held on Saturday in all three protest centres for the victims of Friday?s violence.

More than 150 people were rounded up between Friday and Saturday in house-to-house searches in the neighbourhood of Barzeh and some 70 arrests were made in Mareh near Aleppo, the London-based Observatory said.

Protests in Aleppo, Syria?s second city, have been muted since the pro-democracy demonstrations erupted in mid-March.

But the Syrian Revolution 2011 called on demonstrators to ?get ready for a volcano? in Aleppo next Thursday, in a message posted on its main Facebook page.

The Observatory says 1,332 civilians have been killed in the government?s crackdown and that 341 security force personnel had also lost their lives.

EU leaders adopted a declaration in Brussels on Friday denouncing ?in the strongest possible terms the ongoing repression and unacceptable and shocking violence the Syrian regime continues to apply against its own people.?

Opposition figures announced they will hold a meeting in Damascus on Monday to discuss ?how to solve the crisis.?

?We will talk so that we can formulate a national strategy on how to end Syria?s current crisis,? Abdel Karim Rihawi, president of the Syrian League for Human Rights, told AFP.

But the grouping of more than 100 independents with no ties to political parties is not the ?spokesperson of protesters in the street,? the rights activist added.

During the execution of their projects follow the following order: site and building elements such as paths, walls, beams, sitting room, playgrounds, irrigation system plan, all the work of the land, planting plan and the selected plants, plant trees, install the irrigation system, grass sowing, planting roses or plants and vegetables.

External routes we canhappen on a construction site in all seasons with no dirty shoes, and also keep our plants. Plan routes to link logically the different parts of the yard. Some curves are based, because it would quickly start to take a shortcut through the grass. You need to plan for a slight decline in one direction. During the construction of a clock and the true depth of 60 cm. A substrate is slightly wider than the tracks, so that the water could go, and the grass would not penetrated too fast path.

MSG summer shutdown a boon to NJ venues (AP)

NEW YORK ? Madison Square Garden, the world's most famous arena, is going dark for the summer ? and top acts like Sade, Britney Spears and Taylor Swift are having to perform on the outskirts of the Big Apple as the renowned venue prepares for a long-term makeover.

MSG will spend the next three summers reconstructing its arena. That's good news for New Jersey venues like the Prudential Center and IZOD Center, which are experiencing an increase in high-profile performers as a result. Even Long Island's Nassau Coliseum is getting a small boost.

"MSG is the busiest arena and has been the busiest arena that I've seen in the States ... and anytime you take out that supply, especially if you have an increase in demand, it's going benefit the Prudential Center, and certainly we expect that to be the case," said Jeff Vanderbeek, who owns the Prudential Center in Newark.

It's a busy summer for top musical acts: Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block are on the road together, the cast of "American Idol" and "Glee" are performing live and hitmakers like Katy Perry and Rihanna ? accompanied by Cee Lo Green ? have tours.

"This summer as far as I can tell, with or without MSG being shut down, it's going to be a busy summer with more acts wanting to play in arenas," Vanderbeek continued.

"2009 was a fairly light concert year," said Jim Minish, executive vice president of facilities at the IZOD Center. "There weren't that many bands out or bands couldn't sell arenas. There seems to be a lot more acts this year that are able to play arena venues."

Prudential is located about 10 miles outside of New York. Vanderbeek, who also owns hockey's New Jersey Devils, says he knew that the building would be busy this summer with the growing popularity of his venue, which is also housing this week's NBA draft, typically held at MSG.

IZOD, located in East Rutherford, N.J., is also getting a boost thanks to MSG's construction.

"We normally do a good number of concerts at IZOD Center, but I would say this year is probably a handful more that we've gotten from now through October," said Minish.

Both Vanderbeek and Minish say that commuting to New Jersey from New York is a breeze, though most ticketholders aren't initially convinced.

"People are shocked at how easy it is," Vanderbeek said.

MSG ? which has billed their reconstruction as the "Transformation" ? plans to upgrade its entrance, seating, lighting, sound and video; it will also add more bathrooms, suites, lockers, food options and "a new star dressing room."

A representative for MSG said the venue has been in touch with artists and promoters about its construction schedule; the venue will resume its concerts in October.

Gary Bongiovanni, the president and editor-in-chief of concert trade magazine Pollstar, said sports is a priority for MSG, and avoiding construction during the basketball and hockey seasons ? when ticketholders have purchased season passes ? is why construction is happening during the summer months.

Bongiovanni also said that MSG is a venue known to charge artists a hefty price to play there, and that performing in New Jersey could mean a larger profit for artists.

"It is known as a very expensive building to play ... which in general is true in most New York venues," he said.

MSG's concerts can house up to 20,000 people; IZOD matches that, while Prudential can hold up to 19,500 and for Nassau about 18,000 seats.

This year marks a unique time for some artists and MSG: Sade, who hasn't been on the road since 2001, is back after releasing a platinum-selling album last year. But fans won't get a chance to see the soul band play at one of the world's most famed arenas. The growing popularity of Fox TV show "Glee" has helped the cast land larger tour stops compared to its concert stint last year, and they have performed in other arenas, but can't do so in New York City.

"We would have performed at Madison Square Garden," said "Glee" actor Cory Monteith. "We sold out the Staples' Center twice in a day, which is about the same size and (MSG is) under construction, so I'm sure that's why we didn't go."

Venues like Prudential and IZOD are having some acts at their venues for the first time, and more importantly, the venues see it as an opportunity to get artists coming back. Vanderbeek says that's the case with Swift, who performed at Prudential twice last year and will perform there four times next month.

"She loved the building," Vanderbeek said. "So I think it's a testimony to New Jersey, to the building and certainly to Taylor Swift."

Brain Cancer ? Symptoms of Brain Cancer -

Article by Basil Barber

The malignant one is cancerous and is the leading killer amongst all types of cancer. Most of the initial symptoms of Brain Cancer are usually passed off as routine medical issues and get associated with common ailments. However, they do show some indications which can serve as a warning.Generally Associated Symptoms* A gradual feeling of lethargy with each passing day.* Signs of general weakness.* Vomiting.* Dizziness or perhaps a short blackout spell.* Fever coupled with hallucinations.* Persistent migraine or full blown headache.* Decline in vision or hearing.* Lack of coordination whilst performing routine tasks like eating or walking etc.* Stumbling because of unexplained reasons.Additional Symptoms* Feeling of numbness in both arms and legs or either arm(s) or leg(s).* Experiencing weakness on only one side of the body.* Both or either arm(s) or leg(s) acquiring numb for a period of time.* Swelling in the brain detected in the course of a scan.* Hydrocephalus.Brain Cancer affects that organ of the body which controls all other body functions. As a result, as this cancer progresses, newer and newer symptoms will maintain emerging within the patient which will restrict his functioning if remedial action isn?t taken to control the growth. Considering that cancer cells will begin dominating the brain cells, a direct impact is going to be within the form of:* Loss of memory ? initially modest spells but will gradually increase.* Failing of motor organs.A seizure is one of the key signs that your dog is suffering from a neurological disorder. Other visible neurological disorders may possibly be the loss of balance, wobbly walking, difficulty swallowing, facial paralysis, head tilting leaning in a direction, loss of sight or hearing, loss of balance, head-shaking, difficulty jumping, spastic motions, eyes opening and closing strangely, weakness, a general lack of correct coordination, or even paralysis. If any of these behaviors are exhibited with an older dog, it?s a great concept to at the very least check-in with a vet and see what may well be afoot.Neurological disorders are rather easy to define, but there is a subset of other behaviors that could start that would take a much more discerning owner to connect the dots in a brain tumor direction. Some of these symptoms may contain the loss of memories (not following commands so well), an obvious onset of depression, an increased or decreased appetite or thirst, uninspired aggression, vomiting, irritability, loss of bladder control,, and even can all be potential signals. Sometimes the dog acts like they are really in discomfort, whimpering. One of the most fascinating symptoms even so, is the pressing of their head against tough surfaces (possibly to ease pressure?).There are no identified preventative measures for a brain tumor. They just occur. Age appears to be a frequent denominator although, with 95% of canine mengiomas (slow growing tumors that put pressure on the brain) occurring in dogs over 7 years old. Often, the dog may well go for a substantial amount of time having a tumor on their brain unbeknownst to the dog?s owner. Because such tumors are slow growing, the brain is in a position to adjust and possibly offset negative symptoms for a period of time. It?s unfortunate that dogs cannot talk and owners are left to create a determination if the behavior is significant based on their dog?s behavior.

Toronto Lofts and Luxury Condos: What Does the 2011 Market Have in ...

Real estate property experts around the globe have been a little perplexed and more than disappointed by the markets the past couple of years. Looking back over 2010, there are only two words that described the condition of the property market in Toronto, Canada ? ?smokin? hot?. In this rather unanticipated year of years, property values in the area defied the largely downward pattern of the worldwide economy by reaching all time highs, thanks to extremely low mortgage rates and a demand for available properties that exceeded the supply ? especially when it came to Toronto lofts and condos.

Times were very exciting in the Toronto real estate property market. So, if Toronto defied all odds in this dismal economy recently, what are the forecasts for next year? Pundits are forecasting that while there may be some cooling trends in 2011, buyers and sellers of condominiums and lofts in the hot Canadian markets will still have some very compelling opportunities next year.

The Canada Housing and Mortgage Corporation (CHMC) forecasts that in the province of Ontario, the overall real estate market is prone to see a bit of a decline next year. This may occur for many reasons, but the two elements that are expected to be the most important are:

??? ?The sluggish global economy leading to overall financial instability.

??? ?An anticipated increase in the mortgage interest rate of one and a half to two percent in Ontario, Canada.

However, there is historical evidence that suggests that 2011 predictions will have more of an consequence on suburban real estate, and that ? particularly when it comes to city real estate such as Toronto luxury condos, the market will stay driven by want rather than the cost of money.

Urban properties are, and will very likely remain hot commodities for many reasons. Young, upwardly mobile citizens covet these types of dwellings for the advantages and proximity they offer to both their workplaces and the active city nightlife. However, condominiums and lofts also appeal to elderly and empty nesters that are looking to smaller, more manageable houses, but still want to be in the midst of the urban life.

It is very likely that lofts will always draw artists and artisans who want that slightly atypical style abode that provides open spaces, lots of brightness, and a living space that can also function as a projects studio.

While building remains a flourishing business in urban Ontario, with more intended, it is still possible that demand will exceed supply. This would keep the Toronto real estate market hot for the foreseeable future.

Oracle's profit tops Street, but worries surface (AP)

SAN FRANCISCO ? Oracle Corp.'s latest quarterly results Thursday underscore the critical role its software business plays despite its push to become a more well-rounded technology vendor by selling computer servers.

Oracle's net income increased 36 percent as new sales of business software were at the high end of its expectations. Revenue rose 13 percent.

But the company's stock fell as its hardware division stumbled.

Oracle bought fallen Silicon Valley star Sun Microsystems last year for $7.3 billion. That thrust Oracle into the computer server business.

The transformation has made CEO Larry Ellison one of the world's richest men. It also made an enemy of longtime partner Hewlett-Packard Co.

Ellison has repeatedly said that he wanted to focus Sun's business only on higher-profit deals. As a result, he warned, some lower-margin deals may fall off.

Now that Oracle has had Sun for a full year, the effect of Ellison's strategy is coming into focus.

Oracle said net income was $3.21 billion, or 62 cents per share, in the fiscal fourth quarter, which ended May 31. That compares with $2.36 billion, or 46 cents per share, a year ago.

Excluding stock-based compensation and one-time expenses, Oracle earned 75 cents per share, higher than the 71 cents per share that analysts polled by FactSet expected.

Revenue of $10.78 billion was slightly higher than the $10.76 billion that analysts expected.

Oracle's software revenue rose 17 percent to $7.70 billion. Revenue from new software licenses ? a key metric for predicting future revenue ? came in at the high end of Oracle's previous forecast.

Oracle co-president Safra Catz said revenue growth from new software licenses came without a boost from new acquisitions.

But revenue in its hardware division was flat at $1.83 billion. Stronger sales of hardware support contracts masked a 6 percent decline in revenue from computers sold.

Investors appeared unsettled by what they saw. Oracle's stock fell $2.36, or 7.3 percent, to $30.40 in extended trading, after the results were reported.

The server market has generally been strong coming out of the Great Recession as companies invest in Internet infrastructure.

What was unclear from Oracle's results was whether its weakness in hardware resulted from a downturn in the market or from competition. HP and IBM Corp. have relentlessly pursued the customers that Oracle got through the Sun purchase. Sun's share of the server market has declined over the past year.

Many analysts had expressed skepticism about Oracle's ability to make money on a company that had been losing billions of dollars for years.

Despite the downturn in hardware, Sun said its profit margin rose as the company improved operational efficiency. Catz said Oracle "clearly exceeded even our own high expectations for Sun's business."

For the current quarter, Oracle expects net income of 45 cents to 48 cents per share, excluding items, in line with expectations for 46 cents per share. Revenue should grow 10 percent to 13 percent. That translates to $8.25 billion to $8.48 billion and is in line with the $8.30 billion analysts expected.

Oracle expects revenue from new software licenses to grow 10 percent to 20 percent to $1.43 billion to $1.56 billion. The company expects revenue from hardware to fall up to 5 percent or increase up to 5 percent.

Looking For Domain Companies Online? ? Article Prove

You are guaranteed to be offered terms and conditions before you can have your domain name registration accomplished. While it?s very common and every one of us these days do not possibly invest time to read these, it?s still essential, especially when acquiring your domain address the first time through a young registration provider. The young provider might have some things not the same as what you?re comfortable with with your former company. Thus, you?ll want to be sure you get them down right just before you agree to the offer. That?s not negotiable. Lots of domain providers now offer one price cut or the other when purchasing and registering new domain names. You need to see if there is a promotion or more offered before you decide to register your domain names with any domain subscription firm. I?ve found out that if you don?t request, they won?t tell you. Therefore, always take time to inquire further if they have any offered coupon which will allow you to stretch your budget while registering your domains. Since it is your own website address, you really know what you desire for sure. If the registration service is not doing the work right for you, you do have a right to call off the contract. There?s no cause to spend substandard service. And the fact that you will find lots of other subscription providers out there, it means that you don?t waste time with one that?s not doing points right. The good news is that lots of the others are quite beneficial, so you have a lot to select from, rather than stick to an undesirable company.

Website name registration is really as important as selecting the brand of your internet business. You should have looked around to be certain no one else goes by that name and even any close to it. Domain name enrollment certainly requires also that you look around to determine that nobody else comes with the identical domain name or similar, so they won?t get your traffic going to the wrong internet site. Simple.

Selecting a domain name for your website is easy enough; finding one is the hard part. It really is not that big a world, even on the internet. A lot of people have similar ideas all the time, and many of them have migrated their businesses online earlier than you have. But if you use some of the good domain tools out there they can help you find the right domain name.

You don?t do domain name registration without first knowing what your website is about. You want to get that right the first time around. The wrong type of registration will look bad on you and your business, and you don?t want that. As important as your business is, so also should your domain name be, especially when you are considering doing lots of business online.

Having been on the internet quite a bit, you should be very clear what you want. Before doing domain name registration, you should have it all down to the type of domain you really want. If you don?t, you have some extra homework to do. As they say in just about every aspect of life ? those who fail to plan are only planning to fail. This also applies to domain registration.
