Rome man faces felony sex charge

A Rome man faces a felony sex-related charge, according to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.

Michael Johnson, 34, was charged with first-degree sex abuse, officials said. He was arraigned in Rome City Court and sent to Oneida County jail without bail.

Rome police Detective Richard Galluppi, who is assigned to the Child Advocacy Center, made the arrest.

The victim has been offered counseling through the Advocacy Center.
